SSOP arises in a consortium integrated by four members from three different countries with strong expertise in developing innovative equipment and methods for water and sludge treatment and synthetic oil production and commercialization. Founded in 1996, the coordinator Rimon is an engineering company based in Israel with a vast expertise in designing, constructing and operating wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). Tridacna is the SME specialized in sludge transformation systems that developed the SSOP concept. Stela are experts in drying equipment since 1922 and are experts in sewage sludge drying. Beta is a Spanish SME active in the energy and sustainability fields. It is specialized in bioenergy production and delivery from renewable resources and encompassed within the concept of bio-refinery.
